In 2009, “Trattoria da Massimino” opens in Livergnano.
In 2013 the restaurant moves to the city centre of Pianoro. In this new location, at the heart of a thriving, pedestrians-only, quarter of town, large windows invite a warm light. The ambiance of the dining room is modern and elegant, and displays pieces of fine art from some of Bologna’s acknowledged master artists, such as the “Leafs” by Nicola Zamboni, Umberto Sgazzi’s pictures and Roberta Denti’s ceramics.
During summer there is also a spacious screened porch with hedges to guarantee privacy and movable curtains to be closed if the wind blows.
The restaurant merges two souls: Massimo’s love for cookery and Giulia’s passion for hospitality.
Produce selection is at the heart of the cooking. Flavours change according the season, reinventing menus every month in order to use the best fresh products that surrounding countryside has to offer. Every course is a commitment to bringing out the best in our raw materials and to those who produce them. That’s why Trattoria da Massimino has joined the alliance between Italian Cooks and Slow-Food Presidia, and for the same reason a whole page of our menu is dedicated to our suppliers.
Every Wednesday is “Theme Night” (reservation required). The theme is never the same, and it can be a single ingredient that becomes the protagonist of each course, a particular regional cuisine, or a specific preparation technique.
Friday is seafood day, with some dishes added to the menu.
But if you just speak with Giulia or Massimo, every day can be the right day for a customized dinner based on your own requests, or to celebrate your special occasions, or organize a business dinner, or any other kind of event.
The communication between “Trattoria da Massimino” and its customers comes out from the dining room walls. Following the Facebook page or joining the newsletter, everybody can be updated about “Theme Nights”, new menus and events.
